Jim Croce

Jim Croce was one of the brightest singer song writers to come out of the 70's. If he would not have been killed in 1973 who knows just what was to come from him. I started collecting Jim's music from the first time I heard "You Don't Mess Around With Jim" in 1972. From there it was a string of top 10 hits and 3 chart topping albums. Since his death some of Jim's early demo's have surface on compilation albums. Most of the sound is mainly folk music, not as contemporary as his released material from 1972 and 1973. Some of his best material is his live recordings. Jim had a way with the audience, and it came through in his live shows and on his radio broadcast. I was fortunate enough to get some early radio shows from Philadelphia from the late 60's that featured Jim Croce and his wife Ingrid.
